mad.gif Ok, this is really annoying that I have to post this much personal info on a public board! embarrassed.gif Rant over.

My surgery is scheduled for December 3rd. Part of my pre-op instructions for after the surgery say that I need to buy 1 or 2 sports bras to wear while laundering the support garment/bra that they will provide after the surgery. Anybody know where in the world I can find a sports bra that will fit 34KKK boobs??
Next, how was your recovery? Bad, terrible, ok??
Were you happy with the results of the surgery?? Did you go in expecting more and not get it?
Anybody else ever go in with KKK boobs? What was your resulting cup size?
Thanks!

Well, you presumably won't have KKK boobs after the surgery, so you should try maybe an extra-large, or whatever would fit your ribcage. I wore one my mom gave me of hers, and she's a DD.

I have no idea what size my boobs were pre-surgery, because I never found a bra that fit. If I had to guess, I'd say I was in the H range. I went down to a C.

Recovery wasn't too bad. Not being able to drive was kind of a bummer, and I couldn't wash my own hair for several days, but it got better quickly. For me, I had lingering effects of anesthesia -- I still got quite tired -- for several weeks. On the bright side, my back pain went away pretty much immediately.

I was delighted with the results of my surgery, and even while I was still in bandages I was admiring my little tiny cleavage.

Good luck!

My surgeon gave me a special bra to wear after surgery. I'm surprised they don't do that anymore! I would suggest going to your local sports good store and having a look. Champion bras are my fave sports bra. They are quite binding... which is what you need in the early days. However, make sure to get one with hooks so you dont have to put it over your head. Stretching can be a bit tenuous for a few weeks!

Honestly, the pain from the reduction didnt bother me in the slightest. I stopped taking the pain relief after day 3 as I didnt think it was really doing much. I, like Kara, did feel tired for awhile. I took naps mid day for about a week.

The only pain I did have that was on the side of my breasts where they put in the drainage tubes. They seem to be the deepest cuts and for MONTHS afterwards if something accidently poked them (underwire) it was HORRIBLE. They did heal up completely and dont bother me now.

I had probs with the incision almost getting infected, so watch out for possible infection and get it treated right away! I didnt have an infection in the end, but it did scab up worse than the other breast and left me with bad scars. I had my reduction nearly 8 years ago now and all the scars bar these are barely visible.

I have no regrets having had my surgery because it has allowed me to have the active lifestyle I enjoy with a little less back pain.

The only thing I would add is to look for clothes that button up the front. You really do not want to be lifting your arms over your head for awhile. I was a silly 21-year-old college student when I had my reduction during Christmas break. Not even three weeks after my surgery I decided to go out for New Year's and with alcohol in me (also stupid, so soon post-op) I forgot all about the instruction to not lift my arms up. After spending the night hugging my boyfriend at the time I woke up the next morning with some serious tears in the incision under my left breast. The scar there is much wider now and that boob is droopier (and the nipple hangs lower) than the other because of it.

They will give me surgical garment to wear but they recommended getting a sports bra or something that closed in the front to wear while I washed the other one. They said the cup soze really didn't matter - get one with your current band size. blink.gif I found a 36C that hooks in the front and I am only 30" under the bust so I am assuming this will fit.
