Hi my name is Christina. I a mommy to two littes boys. Jay is 4 and has Autism and Jonathan is 2.5 years old. I did not have surgery of the breast(s) but my sister had a reduction quite a few years ago. She is pregnant with her first baby and she wants to try breastfeeding. I want to find out info and stuff so I can support her through the amazing thing called breastfeeding. Breastfeeding can be hard even though you have not had breast surgery but I am sure its harder if you have supply issues. I went through that myself. I am still breast feeding my two year old. I am just looking on advice on how to suppport her the most without being pushy. Breastfeeding is so important and all new moms need that support which I think in general there is not always enough of that.

Welcome, Christina. It's great that you're willing to be a support person for your sister. In addition to this wonderful forum, I would recommend that she read a good book on general breast feeding such as The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding, as well as the BFAR book Defining Your Own Success. These will give her a good start on knowing what to expect.
The most important lesson of BFAR is that it doesn't have to be all of nothing. She definitely CAN breast feed, no matter how much milk she makes.
