Hi i am new to these forums and introducing myself!

I am 31 with 2 beautiful boys and a new one on the way (we fnd out Feb 11th if they get a sister or not!)

So, I had implant surgery over 10 years ago. I had surgery done through the nipple, not once but twice.

I did not even attempt Bf with my first.

With my second (who is now 19 months) I attempted, and managed to BF for about 6 weeks. i had to supplement throughout though. I realize there were a lot of mistakes I made concerning Bf, like not nursing often enough or pumping enough, but I DO know that I have a supply/letdown issue. I never once felt a let down, nor did I ever feel engorged or full. Pumping session never yielded more than 2-3 oz from BOTH breatsts... although I do understand that pumping is not a good indication of supply.

I am planning on taking NO chances this time though. I am renting a hospital grade pump, and purchasing a PIS as well. I will be taking my herbs as SOON as I deliver, and if needed seek prescriptions from my doc.

Anyway, just hoping to reach out to some fellow women who want to be successful BF'ers!!!

Welcome and congrats on your pregnancy! I never felt letdown either before or after my surgery, and I never got engorged either. Not all women do. And pumping 2-3oz sounds like a lot to me! smile.gif You definitely CAN breast feed no matter how much milk you make.

Thanks for responding! I think I had a severe case of lack of confidence last time around. I remember I had a nurse come to the house for a well check a few days after we came home. He had lost weight, and she scared me to death with the whole "your babys not going to thrive if you dont supplement" thing. Funny thing is, he never cried out in hunger or acted fussy or anything. I think I let her get into my head!

I VOW to be more confident this time around!
